Teacher's Guides

Teacher's guides for An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States for Young People are now available! Below are links to them (they are on the website of Beacon Press). You can download a pdf of each.

We're grateful to Dr. Natalie Martinez of Laguna Pueblo for creating them. Dr. Martinez is on the teaching faculty at the University of New Mexico, in the Department of Language, Literacy, and Sociology.

When approached about finding someone to do the guide, Debbie thought that Dr. Alice Nash would be able to recommend someone. For several years, Dr. Nash has received National Endowment for the Humanities grants to offer Teaching Native American Histories institutes for teachers during the summer. She recommended Dr. Martinez.
